Rome. A group of young people from the “Mameli School” in the Parioli neighborhood, coordinating with the youth ministry of the Parish-Basilica of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, shared an experience of closeness with the poor.
On the 21st of February, in one of the parish halls, they offered a meal for the “guests” or indigent people who frequent these services offered by the community.
About 150 youth, accompanied by their teachers arrived early to prepare the hall, welcome the guests, and offer them food which they cooked in their homes and attended to them with courtesy and joy. The guest, on their part, entered into a dialogue with the youth and shared stories about their lives.
With these kinds of activities the youth ministry of the parish begins a project of collaboration with the various educational institutions in their environment.
