Young Claretian Priests and Missionaries Gather for Reflection and Renewal

Feb 7, 2025 | Ongoing Formation

Cameroon & India – The beginning of 2025 marked two significant gatherings focused on strengthening the spiritual and fraternal commitments of young Claretian priests and missionaries.

In Cameroon, young Claretian Missionaries participated in a four-day quinquennium session organized by the Prefecture of Formation. Themed “The Holy Spirit: The Soul of Mission and the Seal of Fraternity,” the event underscored the vital role of fraternity in Claretian life. As one speaker affirmed, “There is no Claretian life without fraternal life.”

Held in Yaoundé at Casa Claret from June 7 to 10, 2025, the gathering combined spiritual exercises, intellectual formation, and missionary experience sharing, fostering maturity and unity under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Meanwhile, the Young Priests’ Meeting, held from January 21 to 23 in Chennai, India, served as a platform for vocational renewal. The event, attended by Fr. Provincial, the Prefect of Formation, and six young priests, featured reflections and discussions on spiritual growth and mission challenges.

Sessions led by Fr. Arul Sivan, SJ, and Fr. Stanislas, CMF, emphasized communion with God and self-examination in consecrated life. On the final day, Fr. Yesudass, CMF, outlined four objectives: to halt and proceed, seek and find, listen and learn, and break and build, encouraging priests to embrace their mission with renewed clarity.

Though held in different regions, both events shared a common goal—strengthening faith, fraternity, and missionary commitment. These gatherings reinforced the young missionaries’ dedication to their vocation and the Church’s mission.
