Two 10 Day Workshops have been organized for the formators of Major Organisms of ASCLA West on Claretian Formation according to the call of the General Chapter (2009). The first one is being held at Proggaloy, the Pastoral Centre of the Archdiocese of Calcutta from 6 to 16 December and the second one is scheduled to be conducted at the Provincial House at Karukutty, Kerala from 17 to 27 January, 2011. The first workshop is attended by 18 formators from India and Sri Lanka, including a Claretian sister from Mysore.
It is an opportunity for the formators to share their experiences, evolve a common vision and thus enrich the ministry of formation in the Congregation.
The objective of the workshop is to share the vision of the General Chapter (2009) on formation and introduce the basic strategies for a holistic formation in our centers of formation. Taking advantage of the current trends in education and formation, Fr. Mathew Vattmattam, the General Prefect of Formation presented the vision of the Chapter on Formation and other themes like the challenges of formation today, the need for a transformative formation and some practical tools for a holistic formation. Other resource persons initiated the subjects, Discernment and Accompaniment in formation and the role of JPIC and the Word of God in Formation. The workshop is a journey together of all the Claretian formators in ASCLA West to take stalk of what is happening in their formation centers and to harness all the available resources towards the objectives of formation according to the call of the General Chapter.
