Haití. On April 9, Fr. Gonzalo Fernández, General Prefect of Spirituality, and Fr. Héctor Cuadrado, Major Superior of the Delegation of Antilles, visited our brothers of the community of Haiti.
The objective of the visit was to know their situation after almost three months since the earthquake that destroyed Puerto Príncipe, the capital city of the country.
The four Claretians (Aníbal Zilli, Anistus, Beauplan Derilus and Joaquin Grendotti) are all right, although they continue sleeping under a tent spread in the courtyard of the house for fear of new replicas.
In the place where the church, which was razed to the ground, used to be, they have raised a simple wooden structure covered with canvas. Thus they were able to hold the celebrations of the Holy Week.
Now the concern of the community is to channel the aid that is coming from many places in the world. In the Delegation Assembly, that will take place in Puerto Rico from April 12 to 16, this situation will also be taken up.
