May 14, 2019 | Antillas, MICLA
Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. With the theme “Ascend and Descend the Mountain”, the Claretian Missionaries of the Independent Delegation of Antillas initiates its VII Ordinary Assembly on May 13, 2019 at the Fussimanya Retreat House in Puerto Plata. With Fr. Manuel Tamargo, the General Econome, presiding and accompanying them, the Delegation opens a community journey of discernment and proposal with the goal of assuming the Apostolic Missionary Project as a road to spiritual experience, discover the common way to go over it, and propose options for the 2019 – 2021 triennium.
During the first session, Fr. Jose Camilo Minaya, Delegation Major Superior welcomed the participants and encouraged them to ascend with Jesus to the mountain (Mk 9, 2-10), to encounter Him and listen him, to discover his presence in the midst of the missionary community.
During the Mass, Fr. Tamargo invited them to recognize themselves as members of the same flock that has the same mission , to listen to the voice of the Pastor, to the one he asks at the moment, and to enrich the journey with his support. Likewise, he encouraged those present to maintain three attitudes: joy, dream with optimism, and seek humbly.
The present Assembly becomes a space to renew hope and awaken the desire to continue accepting the proposals of the XXV Declaration of the General Chapter. For this purpose, during a week, they will delve into the areas of Government, Economy, Youth Vocation Ministry, Apostolate, Formation and Spirituality, always taking in mind the keys: to discover, to dream, to assume, and to commit.
