Rome Italy. Pope Francis has appointed Fr. José Mª Hernández Martínez, CMF, among the experts who will attend the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, called to reflect on the theme: New Paths for the Church and for an Integral Ecology that will take place in Rome on October 6 to 27 this year. Also on the list, as Consultor, is Fr. Manuel Jesús Arroba Conde, CMF. The Vatican published the list of participants yesterday, September 21, 2019, on its official webpage. Fr. José Mª Hernández, CMF, has been Professor of the Faculty of Theology of Granada, Spain, for 37 years, teaching the subjects of Sacramentology, Eschatology and Ecumenism. Two years ago he was assigned by Fr. General to Italy Delegation and is currently the Parish Priest of the Sacro Cuore di Maria ai Parioli Parish in Rome. Some of his publications have dealt with topics of congregational interest, particularly Ex Abundantia Cordis; Study of the Cordimarian Spirituality of the Claretian Missionaries (Rome-Madrid 1991) and, more recently, Claret and the Protestantism of His Time: The Utopia of An Impossible Encounter (Barcelona 2018).
Fr. Manuel Jesús Arroba Conde, CMF, is a Professor of Procedural Law, and is now the Judge of the Rota of Madrid, Spain. He has been appointed in 2018 by Pope Francis as Consultant of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and member of the Third Special Meeting of the Bishops on the ‘Pastoral Challenges of the Synod on Family’.
