Chicago, USA. Every Saturday, Claretian Missionary Fr. Marco Cárdenas, Oscar Mendoza, and Claretian seminarian Eloy Escamilla take to the microphones at La Tremenda, a Spanish-language radio station in Chicago, to share the Gospel message and focus on how the teachings of Jesus impact daily events.
The program, which is on the air from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, is called Hablemos en confianza and deals with family problems, such as financial concerns or immigration, by bringing the Sacred Scriptures into their listeners’ lives.
“We deal with human aspects” says Fr. Cárdenas, “so as to give the listener a message that touches the reality of the life of the immigrant community . . . to see how the immigrant is adapting to life in the United States.”
Fr. Cárdenas explains, “Our founder, St. Anthony Claret, in the 19th century, utilized all means of communication for evangelization in areas that hadn’t been reached.”
Following the example of our founder, we created Claretian Publications and are also using radio as a means of communicating and teaching.
