Kerwa, Kenya. The PROCLADe foundation of the Province of Santiago continues it work among the poorest people in the world through its various projects. Among these, stands out the construction, equipping, and placing into operation the St. Joseph Health Center in the community of Kerwa (Kenya).
This project has as its objective the enlargement and improvement of sanitary services for the general population of the District of Kiambu, and in particular the population of Kerwa and surrounding villages through a basic infrastructure: consultation rooms, hospitalization, pharmacy and toilets.
The health center will provide not only primary health care, but also comprehensive care covering the areas of: healing, prevention, promotion, and rehabilitation; paying special attention to the care of childrens’ health
The Claretian Kenya exercise their missionary service in the area of Kerwa-Kikuyu (Nairobi), where 85% of the population (15,000 people) are farmers and peasants. The conditions of poverty and health, make them easy prey to infections and diseases, especially AIDS.
