Ekali, Cameroon. The Claretian Organisms of the western side of Africa who engage in social apostolates gathered together at the Novitiate House in Ekali near Yaoundé, Cameroon for the Solidarity and Mission (SOMI) Training from June 10 to 14, 2019. There were twenty-five participants from East Nigeria Province, Delegations of West Nigeria, Cameroun, Congo, Mãe da África, Padre Xifré, and representative from Ivory Coast. Some of the Lay Claretians working in Cameroon also took part of the training. Fr. Rohan Dominic, Claretian representative at United Nations, Fr. Vincent Anes, General Secretary of JPIC, Fr. Lord Winner, the General Mission Procurator, and Br. Robert Omondi, the Coordinator of SOMI for ACLA were the Trainers. During the training, the participants were initiated into the various organs of United Nations, rights-based approach, sustainable development goals, spirituality for JPIC mission and the congregational ways of doing projects. Opportunities were also provided for those present to share about the human rights situations in their countries. A message has been prepared by the participants for their own Organisms as well as those working in West Africa.
