Chennai, India. It is a fact that, since last year till date, our celebrations have a special resonance because they take place during the pandemic of COVID-19. In this context of care, the Claret Bhavan Community during the last days of May has gathered several Claretian Missionaries, sharing life and mission. They have been moments of Grace to celebrate and congratulate our younger brothers who renewed their religious vows, who professed for the first time and those who made their perpetual profession.
These celebrations took place on May 30 and 31 at Claret Bhavan, Karumathur, in a simple manner and without guests. Fr. Soosai Manickam, CMF, Vice Provincial, presided over the renewal and profession of vows.
These dates were also propitious to recall what Pope Francis expects of all religious communities, that is, that we recognize that we are called to be “people of communion” and that we must “have the courage to be present in the midst of conflicts and tensions, as a credible sign of the presence of the Spirit, who inspires in human hearts the passion that all may be one. ” Our vocation is a gift from God. Therefore, following Jesus faithfully will bring joy to our hearts. This does not mean that we will be spared the cross that the Lord promises us as disciples, but it does mean that we will be sustained by the profound joy of knowing that we are loved by God, a joy that no one can take away from us.
We thank God and congratulate our younger brothers and sisters who have said yes to God’s call!
