Sunyani, Ghana. From 19 through 21 August 2021, the Claretians Missionaries of East Nigeria Province working in Ghana gathered at Jamdede, Sunyani for their Quinquennium Encounter. The participants in the program were Frs, Paschal Diala, Maximus Okorie, Marcellinus Njeze and Henry Leka-Ire, CMFF.
The facilitator of the program, the Provincial Vicar/Prefect of Spirituality, Fr. Perpetus Igwe, CMF shared in the common life of the missionaries as well as studied the documents of the Congregation with them. At the celebration of Eucharist in which he presided, the Provincial Vicar, encouraged the missionaries to live a life of sacrifice for the sake of Christ and the Gospel they are sent to preach. He insisted, that the ‘Claretian Community, is a house and school of communion’, which transforms and conforms the individual after the mind of Christ and impacts positively on the people we serve.
The Coordinator of the Ghana Mission Fr. Cyriacus Asiegbu, CMF on behalf of the missionaries expressed sentiments of gratitude to the Provincial Vicar for organising an enriching and spirit-filled encounter and sharing in the common life of the missionaries. The participants also were grateful to the Province for program which renewed their vigour for missionary work.
