Nekede, Nigeria. The Quinquennium Encounter of the East Nigeria Province for the year 2021 spanned from 12 -16 of April at the New Students Hostel at Maryland Nekede, Nigeria. The encounter was blessed with a successful arrival of twelve participants: Frs. Dominic Ukpong, Uche Cletus, Uwakwe Dennis, Anyaebosim Emmanuel, Ekwems Henry, Onele Paul, Onele Peter, Orazulume Valentine, Madunagu Michael, Obiadazie Augustine, Okonkwo Charles and Okoye Vincent, CMFF.
The activities of the encounter included the daily celebration of Holy Mass and the Morning Prayer, sharing of apostolic experiences, and Eucharistic adoration with the recitation of Vespers. The facilitator of the encounter was Fr. Kenneth Oguejiofor, CMF, Provincial Prefect of Formation. His thematic reflections focused on fruitful common life and security awareness.
Fr. Emmanuel Edeh, CMF also shared some reflections on the Constitutions from his experience as a Claretian missionary. He encouraged the participants to be conscious of the first five years of our priestly ministry by dedicating all their work and being to the glory of God, the sanctification of our souls, and the salvation of the world.
More so, at the closing stages of the 2021 Quinquennium, there was a gala night. The concluding Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by the Provincial Superior, Very Rev. Fr. Simeon Nwobi. The participants relished the Spirit-filled encounter.
