Pamplona, Spain. The first Provincial Assembly of the Claretian Missionaries was held in two sessions to ensure wider participation. It took place from December 28-30, 2024, and January 2-4, 2025, at the Colegio Mayor Larraona, bringing together around 40 members in each session.
The assembly, as outlined in the Claretian Directory, serves as a vital platform for participation, co-responsibility, and communion among members of the province. This year’s assembly aimed to review the life and mission of the Province, assess progress on Chapter directives, and identify priorities for future action.
Each community presented updates on their life and mission, and participants engaged in discussions on the Provincial Missionary Project based on prior submissions from communities. Topics included community life, spiritual growth, apostolic efforts, and ongoing formation. Concrete proposals were developed for these areas as well as for Provincial governance.
A highlight of each session was the visit to the missionaries residing at the Villava care home, where participants celebrated the Eucharist together, fostering moments of deep fraternity and emotion. Additionally, prayer sessions prepared by various communities enriched the assembly’s spiritual dimension.
Participation was notably high, with representation from all four regions of the Province: Catalunya, Euskal Herria, France, and Italy. The assembly succeeded in fostering dialogue, unity, and a renewed sense of mission among participants.
The assembly concluded with a strengthened commitment to the Province’s mission and a collective sense of fraternity. These gatherings continue to be a cornerstone of Claretian missionary life, offering opportunities for reflection, planning, and spiritual renewal.
