San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic. On Saturday, November 23, 2019, the priestly ordination of Deacon Rubén Dide Sylvestre, CMF, took place in the church of San José de Cenoví Parish, in San Francisco de Macorís. The Ordination was presided by Msgr. Fausto Mejía Vallejo, Local Ordinary of the Diocese of San Francisco de Macorís, and accompanied by the Major Superior of Antillas Delegation, Fr. Fausto Cruz Rosa, CMF and the Prefect of Formation, Fr. José Camilo Minaya, CMF. Full of joy and gratitude, the Claretian community of Antillas showed its closeness through its presence and prayers for the gift and blessing of the missionary priestly vocation of the newly ordained for the Church and the Congregation.
During his homily, the bishop addressed Rubén Dide, urging him to always seek to encounter and experience Christ who died and risen, to always have the example of Jesus the Good Shepherd, who did not come to be served, but to serve. Likewise, Monsignor Faust, invited him to cultivate a strong spirituality and not to stop fighting and work to be faithful to the charism of St. Anthony Mary Claret, not forgetting pastoral charity in the service to those most in need, and understanding the priesthood as a sacramental fraternity.
Fr. Rubén Dide Sylvestre, CMF, addressed those present with words full of gratitude, in which he recognized the missionary priestly vocation received as a free gift from God, and asked for prayers to be faithful to what Grace has accomplished in his life.
The celebrations continued with the celebration of his First Mass, at 10:00 a.m., on Sunday, November 24, in the Our Lady of the Candelaria Chapel of his home town Bienvenido de Manoguayabo, in Santo Domingo.
