Prayer for peace and justice

May 3, 2009 | JPIC, Solidarity & Mission

Rome. In the afternoon of Wednesday, 22, the community of the General Curia dedicated a special time of prayer, a Rosary for Peace, to ask for the peace of the world, especially for the Church and the people of Sri Lanka where the attacks have intensified and the people are enduring the worse consequences of a war that for many years is piling up deaths, flights and sorrow.

Our brothers of Sri Lanka are also especially suffering the consequences and trust in our solidarity through prayer and other gestures that may serve to make people know of this conflict that the media do not communicate as it deserves.

This prayer has been an initiative of the person responsible for the Secretariat of Justice and Peace, Bro. Arnel Alcober.

A rosary accompanied by biblical reflections and other texts and prayers were intended to be a simple contribution from the faith to the search for peace.
