Negombo, Sri Lanka. The Claretians of St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation in Sri Lanka rejoiced in a momentous occasion as they witnessed the Perpetual Profession of Brother Alveenas Rojes, CMF, on July 19, 2023, at St. Claret Seminary, Kattuwa, Negombo. The ceremony was presided over by Father J. M. Joseph Jeyaseelan, CMF, the Major Superior of St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation, who received Brother Alveenas’s Religious vows.
This event marked a significant milestone for the Claretians in Sri Lanka as Brother Alveenas, became the First Lay Brother in St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation and also in the ASCLA West organisms. Members of the Claretian Family from various parts of Sri Lanka were present, making it a grace-filled and joyous moment for the entire Delegation.
Annual Assembly
From July 17 to 21, 2023 the Claretians of St. Joseph Vaz Independent Delegation gathered for their Annual Assembly at St. Claret Seminary, Kattuwa, Negombo. Father J. M. Joseph Jeyaseelan, CMF, the Major Superior of the Delegation, presided over the Assembly.
During the first day of the Assembly, the members of the Delegation engaged in a profound reflection on the latest Circular letter of the Superior General titled “Our Missionary Journey on the Synodal Path.” Through fruitful study and discussions, the Assembly formulated plans and actions that aimed to enrich the life and ministry of the Delegation in Sri Lanka.
The objectives of the Assembly were centered around a comprehensive evaluation and strategic planning, considering the life and Ministries of the Delegation. Reports from various Houses and Ministries were presented, addressing the Blessings (Seeds), Challenges (Weeds), and Future Plans (Deeds) from diverse perspectives.
The plenary session of the Assembly focused on steps towards achieving the Self-sustainability of the Delegation while emphasizing the enhancement of ministries to meet the current needs. These days became a source of blessings and encouragement for all Claretians in Sri Lanka, fostering a sense of communion and common vocation within the Claretian family.
