New Missionary Perspetives in South Africa

Lagos, Nigeria. On November 9, 2012 theIndependent Delegation of West Nigeria made another huge step. Two missionaries from the Delegation, Fr. Samuel Terungwa Anjah, CMF and Fr. Louis Kwaghhile, CMF were sent to the Archdiocese of Johannesburg in South Africa.

The missionary sending took place during a simple ceremony in the chapel of the community that serves the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Victoria Island in Lagos. The ceremony was led by Fr. Henry Omonisaye, CMF and the other members of the Council of the Delegation.

Based on a reading of Mt 28:16-20, the celebration culminated in the placing of the missionary cross with the command to go and make disciples of all the nations, assuming the challenges posed by the mission

The two missionaries arrived in Johannesburg on November 10th and for several months will dedicate themselves to the study of the language and local culture.

This is the first presence of the Claretians in the South of Africa, a sign of the vitality and missionary expansion of this young Delegation in the West of Nigeria.
