Rome 24 April 2022
Dear Friends,
Greetings of the joy of Easter!
The event of Easter urges us to keep our hopes alive to pursue the dream of God for humanity which Jesus announced as the kingdom of God (Mt 3: 2). Let us not give up hope in the midst of the tragic global pandemic and the atrocities caused by armed conflicts and war in many places on the planet, especially in Ukraine. The way to lift humanity to a higher plane of fraternity and peace is the path of dialogue, solidarity, and care for one another and the planet.
Hundreds of our missionaries are present in the various peripheries of human struggles in various countries touching the suffering of our brothers and sisters. Often our friends and collaborators are not given to know our missionary charism and the mission that we carry out in other parts of the world. Claretian Mission Day is an occasion to share about our mission with our friends and well wishes and to strengthen the network of solidarity in the mission. We also raise funds on this day to join the efforts of missionaries to alleviate some concrete needs in a few missions.
This year Claretian Mission Day is on 24th April 2022, the second Sunday after Easter and the Divine Mercy Sunday. The General Mission Procure has selected three projects in the area of health in the continents of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
I invite all of you to join hands to make this day a special occasion for missionary awareness, prayer, and solidarity for the suffering humanity.
Your brother in Christ,
Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF
Superior General
