Zamboanga City, Philippines. The Claretian Missionaries of Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Province gathered for the reecho of the Claretian Discerning Leadership Workshop (CDLW), annual Provincial Assembly and retreat last Nov. 15-24, 2023, in Zamboanga City.
The focus of the first part of the Assembly was mainly on the reecho of the last four modules of the CDLW, and it was facilitated by Fr. Elias Ayuban, CMF, Fr. Amador Tumbaga, CMF and Bro. Joseph Roy Villarin, CMF.
Fr. Elias, the Provincial Superior, in his message to the members of the Province, said:
“…as Claretians, we are leaders in our own right. Therefore, the contents of this Discerning Leadership Workshop do not only concern the present and future members of the provincial government, but to all of us in varying degrees. That is why in our conversations, we devote more time on our personal situations and assignments: as part of the provincial and local governance, as assigned in schools, parishes, formation centers and other special ministries”.
Fr. Elias also reminded everyone that this annual gathering is a privileged moment for listening, sharing, communion and participation and to celebrate life and brotherhood by engaging in emphatic and generative conversations.
After the Assembly, on the second week of the encounter, the participants moved to Nuestra Señora del Pilar Retreat House of Zamboanga City for the 5-day retreat with Fr. Joseph Callistus, CMF, the Provincial Superior of Deutschland Province, as the facilitator.
Fr. Joseph’s guided reflection was centered on the mystery of the kingdom of God: the mysteries of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And taking the experience of our Father Founder, St. Anthony Mary Claret, he highlighted the importance of the mystery of the Eucharist and of our Blessed Mother Mary in the life and mission of every Claretian missionary in particular and as a Congregation, in general.
