Nigeria. CIP celebrated the 25th anniversary of her foundation, from 19th to 22nd November, 2008.
The preparations for the jubilee took off in December 2007 with the formation of committees charged with various tasks. Marking the historic jubilee were spiritual, academic, sportive and cultural events leading to the grand finale.
The Grand finale kicked off on 19th November 2008 with an opening Mass and second jubilee Seminar presided over by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Egbebo, MSP, the Auxiliary Bishop of Bomadi Vicariate. The next day, Thursday 20th November dawned with the Provincial Superior, Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Edeh, cmf presiding over the Eucharist. On Friday, 21st November, 2008 a bishop-friend of CIP, Most Rev. Dr. Lucius Ugorji of Umuahia Diocese was happy to celebrate the Mass of Inauguration of 2008/2009 Academic/formation year. On the ‘D’ day, 22nd November 2008 the Catholic Bishop of Awgu diocese, Most. Rev. Dr. John Okoye graciously presided over the jubilee mass. Many Priests, Religious women and Laity from far and near attended. Among our international guests were Bro. Rene Lepage, cmf from US West; Frau Edelgard Schulte and Herren Bruno Möller and Giorg Bich – German friends of Fr. Chrysanthus Ogbozo (Rector). It was a colourful day that also featured presentations of CIP Jubilee Essays, proposed jubilee building, cultural displays, jubilee cake, planting of jubilee tree and merriment ad libitum. We thank the General Government for her jubilee gift of co-sponsoring the erection of a new kitchen for our Students.
