Bogota Colombia. From January 14 to 25, in the city of Bogotá, the members of the different biblical communities of the Province of Eastern Colombia and Ecuador met to participate in the XXI COURSE OF POPULAR AND COMMUNITY READING OF THE BIBLE. The total number of the participants was 65. The objective was to provide a space for formation that would allow religious and pastoral agents to deepen the Holy Scriptures so that they have tools that help them to develop the process of evangelization and to announce the Good News in their community, in the style of St Anthony Mary Claret and according to the demands of current reality.
What is intended throughout the course is to make a biblical and theological reading a reality, local and global, in the perspective of hope; making approaches to the Old and New Testaments, in a way that achieves a view of the whole of the biblical text. Through biblical didactics and the method of popular and community reading, elements were offered that would help bring the Word of God closer to the community.
The course began with the words of welcome by the Provincial Superior, Fr. Josué González, CMF, who encouraged the participants to continue developing missionary service in the light of the Word of God. After this, Fr Enrique Aponte, CMF, Prefect of the Apostolate, welcomed all the participants, inviting them to continue advancing along the path that, as a Province, has been built over these 26 years and with the course.
We must thank each one of the participants, the Claretian Missionaries, the advisors (Fathers Alfonso Reyes and Carlos Julio Rozo, CMFF, and the pastoral agents Oswaldo Martínez, Sandra Caicedo and Jaime León) and the EPAB, the fact that, in each of the days of work, they made it possible to continue strengthening the biblical animation of pastoral work in the Province.
