Bengaluru, India. On 21st October 2022, two SHELTERS were inaugurated by Fr. Sabu Koottarppallil, the Provincial of Bangalore in the Project Vision campus at Gauribidanur, which is a one-family accommodation, meant for volunteers to render services in the campus.
The Project Vision Rural campus was started in the year 2016 with the objective of bringing sight and care for visually challenged persons in the rural areas beyond Bangalore city. The campus has by now an Eye-Care clinic, a Daycare center for Children with disabilities, and a Village health outreach program. More than 300 children with various disabilities are covered under the disability project.
Since its inception in 2013, Project Vision has been able to provide sight to 8000+ people through free cataract surgeries and 800+ persons through the distribution of spectacles. Half a million people have pledged to donate their eyes after death, out of which 300 persons’ eyes have already been collected, giving sight to 600 persons through the eye donation movement of Project Vision.
