Guatemala, C.A. From the 18 -23 of July at the Claret Retreat House of this city, the III Formation Encounter for Shared Mission was celebrated under the banner of the 75th supreme testimony of the Claretian Martyrs of Barbastro with the theme: “Called to Deepen the Experience of Faith and the Sending of What We Share.”
The reason for this meeting was to revise the Claretian missionary itinerary in Central America in openness to the new calls of God based on the realities of Mission areas.
Participating at the Encounter were a hundred members of the Claretian Family and companions in the mission among whom were counted: Claretian Missionaries, Lay Claretians, Cordimarian Missionary Sisters, and Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary coming from: Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panamá.
The Superior of the Central American Province, Fr. Rodolfo Morales gave the welcome and gave an account of the previous Encounters, animating those present with love for the cause of the Kingdom of God, accepting the challenges which are present in today’s reality.
Fr. Ismael Montero Toyos, CMF, Prefect of the Apostolate of the Province of Central America expressed the need to give life and appreciate all the work done at these Encounters for the good of our Missionary areas, and for the work of the Claretian Family in Central America.
The participants came to important conclusions in terms of commitment for Justice, Peace, and the Integrity of Creation (JPIC).
