Batatais, Brazil. On June 7 – 9 the Third Brazilian Congress of Educators was held at the Claretian University Center of Batatais.
Four hundred people participated at the Congress, among them teachers, tutors, and missionaries who are involved in the Claretian Education Ministry. The theme of the Congress was: “Tradition and Innovation in Claretian Education: Challenges and Perspectives”.
According to the organizers “the theme brought together the need to recover and value the fundamentals of all the educational work done by Claretian institutions, as well as the strengthening of its mission and identity. The proposal of Claretian Education Action, inspired by the charism of St. Anthony Mary Claret, took as a starting point a clear, ontological conception of man as a personal being”
Many educational professionals helped to deepen these objectives, among them Prof. Dr. Selma Garrido Pimenta, notable professor of the Faculty of Education of the University of Sao Paulo, and Bro. Dr. Clemente Ivo Juliatto, Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná
The Provincial Superior, Fr. Marcos Aurelio Loro, CMF, gave the opening presentation inviting everyone to a commitment emanating from the memory of our Founder, to commit themselves to the service of others, evangelizing through all means possible.
