Los Negrales, Madrid (Spain). On January 4, 2013, after nine days of discernment and decision-making, the II Chapter of the Province of Santiago has ended.
After the evaluating the stages of the journey during the previous period, the presentation of proposals to better orient its missionary service, and the election of the new Government team, the Chapter focused on the deliberation of the lines of action that will shape the direction of the Province over the next six years. The result has been approved in a document whose title is “Our Mission Project”.
The Chapter also discussed the issues of regimen and government, on which our rights call for a pronouncement, requiring an absolute majority to maintain the practices taken in recent years.
In the last session, the new Provincial directed a few words to the Assembly, which he announced that Fr. Peter Belderrain, CMF will be the Provincial Vicar, Fr. Juan José Raya, CMF be Consultor Secretary of the Acts of the Council, and the new Provincial Secretary, non-Consultor, will be the Fr. Jesús Antonio Centeno, CMF. He thanked the presence of Fr. General in the Chapter, as well as all persons and committees who have contributed to its development; and invited the Capitulars to share what they saw, heard and experienced.
Finally, Father General made some concluding reflections. He reviewed a number of important aspects of the Claretian life and mission, inviting the gratitude and commitment for all that has been received. And with the approval of those present, the Chapter ended.
