Chicago, USA. The Claretian Biblical Institute of the Americas (IBICLA), a project lead by a team from the Claretian Biblical Institute of USA-Canada Province, inaugurated this year’s Summer Program on the 30th of July. The ceremony which marked the beginning of the academic activities was led by its founder and professor Fr. Manual Villalobos Mendoza, CMF, Ph.D., and took place at Our Lady of Guadalupe in South Chicago, IL where they were welcomed by members of the Chicago Claretian Biblical School with music, delicious traditional food and entertainment.
The institute had the honor of having various renowned professors like Sandra Mansilla, PhD from Argentina, Ricardo López, Ph.D. from Chicago and Rev. Manuel Villalobos, PhD from Chicago. The classes that were imparted during these two academic intensive weeks included: The Pentateuch, Introduction to Hebrew Scriptures, Introduction to Christian Scriptures, The Gospel of Mark, “Pastoral Biblica” with the Chicago Claretian Bible School (EBC).
The Summer Program which was participated by 13 individuals officially ended on August 11 with a beautiful Mass held at the same place of inauguration and presided by its founder. Many of the participants expressed gratitude for this learning experience of growing in the faith and love of Scripture.
