Haití. Yesterday, January 20, 18 doctors from the AMAR group (Alliance of Medics to the Rescue) left from Puerto Rico headed to Haiti, carrying with them 81 cases full of medicines and with open hands and hearts, overflowing with generosity. The Claretian community of Jimaní received them early this morning in a little school attended by the Claretian Missionaries. It was necessary to rest there for a while after a trip of about six hours, before continuing to their destination in Puerto Príncipe.
Towards 9 o’clock in the morning today they continued their trip and by this time they must have already met Fr. Anistus in whom certainly will see with a different look than what they saw in him towards the end of last November, when they participated in the Health Clinics that PROMICLA organized from Puerto Rico.

They will also not find the parish Saint Anthony Mary Claret, where this group of doctors carried healing, medicines and joy to so many Haitian brothers… the church has disappeared.
Our Dominican brothers in the Dominican Republic are celebrating today the feast of their Patroness, Our Lady of Altagracia.
And I know that she, our Mother Mary, feels today more urged, not only by her Dominican children, but also for so many Haitian children who have crossed the border and have arrived, torn by pain, to seek consolation and hope in their sister land. I know that she, in her Maternal and Loving Heart receives, accepts and love them, because she knows well a wounded heart, and she also knows well the Resurrection. Today we ask her to receive in the same way our Puerto Rican brothers who have travelled there to tighten the bonds of fraternity and to so many brothers of the whole world who continue joining in this great feast of Love.
