Victoriaville, Canada. On February 25 until the 27, the Canadian Delegation has held its General Assembly à Victoriaville.
The Assembly has been presided by Fr. Josep Ma Abella, General Superior of the Congregation. The Assembly has been preceded by the canonical visit to our communities. All the Delegation’s members – except Fr. Josep Viñas, resident in en old people’s home and Fr. Jean-Louis Dubois Balaña, in Spain due to illness – have been present,18 member in all. Father General’s presence has been a precious assistance in the smooth and easy course of the Assembly.
Between the subjects discussed at the sessions, we need to underline the preoccupation for the future of the Delegation, having in mind the recent efforts of the General Government in restructuring different Organisms of the Congregation. Perhaps de hour has come to think of North America. The arrival, these last years, of young claretians, coming from different parts of the Congregation, bring us hope, but, also, a challenge to open new horizons.
On the 27th of February, before closing the Assembly, the new government of the Delegation has been chosen:
Fr. James Raphel, Major Superior.
Fr. Carmel Lerma, Consultor and Treasurer.
Fr. Jean-Paul Bars, Consultor.
