Madrid, Spain. On Monday, March 6, 2023, students from the Politics and Society Workshop at Claret School of Larraona (in Pamplona) traveled to Madrid to present the Ethical Code they have developed.
The day began with a reception by the President of the Congress of Deputies. After a meeting with the President, the students had the opportunity to visit the parliamentary chamber and the most emblematic rooms of the historic building.
Later, they met with the spokesperson of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Mr. Patxi López. In the afternoon, they were received by the spokesperson of the Popular Party (PP) in Congress, Mrs. Cuca Gamarra. To conclude the experience, the students met with Mr. Miguel Gutiérrez, representative of the Citizens Group (Cs).
Despite being a day of intense work, the experience proved very rewarding and exciting for the students, who will surely not forget this enriching experience.
This example embodies part of the dream that the Congregation has for 2027:
We dream of a Congregation, audacious and itinerant, that, sent by the Spirit of the Lord (cf. Lk 4:18; Acts 8:28, 39) goes forth towards the peripheries, approaches the youth, walks with them and encourages them to respond to the call of God.
The commitment of Claret School of Larraona and all Claretian schools to education in Christian values reinforces the importance of training new generations in ethical and moral principles. Teaching based on these values seeks to foster in young people a sense of solidarity and commitment to justice, equality, and respect for others. By empowering students to become agents of change in society, the aim is to transform the world into a more just, equitable, and hopeful place for all.
