Lujan, Argentina. During the 3rd Provincial Chapter of San Jose del Sur held in Lujan of Buenos Aires City on January 14, 2024, Fr. José Alejandro Abarza Morales, CMF, was elected Provincial Superior for the next six-year term from 2024 to 2030.
Fr. José Alejandro was born in Linares, Chile on November 8, 1969. He joined the Congregation of Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1993. He made his first profession on January 16, 1994, in Chascomús (Argentina) in the then Independent Delegation of Chile. Furthermore, he made his final vows on December 5, 1998, in Santiago in the same mentioned Independent Delegation. He was ordained as a priest in Santiago on September 24, 1999. He has been assigned to different pastoral ministries, and his latest is that of the parish in Antofagasta since 2019.
We commend Fr. José Alejandro Abarza Morales, CMF, to the Lord, and to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph as he guides his brothers of his Province and walks with the people involved in the pastoral works of San José del Sur toward the fulfillment of the Provincial Dream in the next six years.
