Kattuwa, Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan Claretian Mission of the German Province is one of the fast-growing organisms in the Congregation.
The Mission had its Annual General Assembly from 26 to 28 April, 2011 at St Claret Seminary, Kattuwa.
Every Year, all the Claretians in Sri Lanka gather together during the Easter Week to celebrate the General Assembly. There were 38 Claretians taking part in this important event this year in which Fr. Stefan Wolf, Provincial of Germany too participated.
A special feature of this year’s Assembly is the addresses made by two General Prefects to the gathering. A pre-recorded address by the General Prefect of Spirituality, Fr. Gonzalo Fernandez explaining to the assembly about the importance and principles of the “The Forge in Our Daily Life” was played and it was very inspiring and personal as this talk was given particularly to the members of the Sri Lankan Mission. Then the General Prefect of Formation Fr. Mathew Vattamattam came live on Skype for a tel(e)-conference with the members of the assembly.
The e-conference was alive and meaningful as if it was a real interaction. Thanks to the technological advancements that got the two Prefects to speak to the assembly.
