Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The fourth General Assembly of the Independent Delegation of Congo took place on June 4 to 8, 2019 at the Theresianum Spiritual Center in Kinshasa.
During the first day, Fr. Cyprien Bwangila facilitated their recollection on the theme “The Challenges of the Consecrated Life and Mission in Africa.” On the second day, they read the messages from the General Superior, General Secretary, and from the President of the Assembly. The evaluative phase followed which included the reading of the Government and Economic reports and sharing from representatives of the Claretian Family and of a Lay who shared on behalf of Parish Pastoral animators. Then they had a workshop.
On the third day, they went on with the evaluation and group reports on plenary session and shared on some other important issues such as Community life and child abuse. The proclamation of the new Delegation Government of Congo followed: Fr. Jean Baptiste Makilandi, CMF (Major Superior), Fr. Robert Bellarmin Ndjoli, CMF (Consultor), Fr. Agustin ANkwanda, CMF (Consultor – Econome). In the evening of that same day, they started the planning phase for the triennium 2019-2022.
They dedicated June 7 on the drafting of the final document, and they talked on issues such as, child abuse, golden jubilees both of our presence at Pay-Kongila and of Center of Development of Kingandu (CDK). The Assembly approved the final document in the afternoon. Afterwards Fr. Jean Baptist, the newly appointed Superior, gave them a meditation on the four nuclei of the forge. Then Fr. Henry Omonisaye, CMF, President of the Assembly, thanked the participants and asked them to be more faithful to their vocation, increase the missionary collaboration and creativity, fraternity, and love at all levels.
The concluding Mass took place at 6 pm at the St. Ignace Parish in Green City, Fr. Jean Baptist presiding it.
