Madrid, Spain. The unprecedented, the first edition of the newly coined Ongoing Formation for Claretians aged 70 and above, dubbed as “Forge Another Stage of Life,” promoted by the General Prefecture of Spirituality, finally began on March 1, 2019 at the Forge Center for Claretian Renewal in Los Negrales, Madrid.
9 Claretians from the Provinces of Santiago, Fátima, Euskal Herría and the Delegation of Italy take part in it. Animating and overseeing them are Frs. Salvador León and Juan Carlos Martos CMFF of the Forge Center. The participants will dedicate the whole month of March to re-read their own history and illuminate it from the keys offered by the elderly characters of the Bible, and from the Autobiography of our Father Founder. The program intends to provide ample time to dispose the heart with faith and wisdom in embracing the sunset stage of the missionary life.
At the beginning of this experience they had the unexpected and happy visit of Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF, who, in passing Madrid on March 2 for a certain commitment in the area, desired to come to Los Negrales to meet and share dinner with them. They were very grateful for this gesture of closeness and fraternity, which shows Father General’s support for this new activity of ‘pastoral care for vocational fidelity.
