New York, USA. Fondazione Proclade Internazionale-Onlus co-sponsored a parallel event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York during the 62nd Commission on the Status of Women. This event was organized by New York-based NGOs of few Religious Congregations, including Claretians. The theme of the event was, Women as Change Makers: Empowering Stories of Rural Women and Girls. This took place at the Church Center for the United Nations on 14th March.

In this ​Hall packed event, success stories of women migrant workers, Dalit rural women, young indigenous girls and war widows were presented. These stories have clearly narrated the resilience and creativity of vulnerable, rural women transforming their lives and their communities despite challenging situations, existing government policies, and legislation.
