Rio Claro, Brazil. On February 19, the activities of the first medical school in Rio Claro / SP offered by Claretiano – Faculdade, began.
In addition to a milestone in the history of the city, which will benefit most from the course, its beginning represents a great moment in the trajectory of Claretiano – Rede de Educação, which for 48 years has been dedicated and trained professionals. This moment will expand the health service of Rio Claro, helping the growth of the city and the citizens.
In this first contact, the students were able to meet part of the teaching staff that will accompany them during the course. Teachers, who specialize both in the academic field and in the day-to-day work of a physician, have been selected and trained to provide content and dynamics to future physicians, newcomers.
The students were also able to visit the course facilities, where they will take the practical and theoretical classes. Accompanied by the teachers and technicians responsible for the laboratories, the students got to know the equipment (mannequins, pieces, microscopes, among others), the rules that will be charged in specific rooms (such as dress and behavior) and all the services that will be available from the beginning course.
Throughout this First Welcome Week, the Claretian university will carry out cultural, student interactions, presentation of the pedagogical and educational project, visit to the facilities of the Basic Health Unit – UBS Terra Nova, where they will perform a large part of the practical activities and, as an interaction with society, a visit to the Princess Vitória Child Ability Center and the São Vicente Abrigo.
The university expresses its gratitude to all those involved in opening this course, conceived and started in 2014: the Municipality of Rio Claro, the Claretian Missionaries and the entire Claretiano – Rede de Educação.
