Nekede, Nigeria. On September 8, 2019, at the Martyrs of Barbastro Chapel in Maryland, Nekede, Owerri, Fr. Simeon Nwobi, CMF, Provincial Superior of East Nigeria, received the first and perpetual vows of six novices and seven students respectively.
The novices who made their First Religious Profession are Chima Kenneth, Dike Stephen, Ede Joseph, Nwankwocha Francis, Nwaogwugwu Kevin and Onyekwere Charles, CMFF.
Seven students, Akujuobi Jude, Amaku Peter Claver, Chiaha Raphael, Igba Emmanuel, Nnonyelum Maxwell, Okoye Vincent and Omelukam Sylvester, CMFF made their perpetual profession in the Congregation.
At the Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Simeon Nwobi, CMF with other priests as concelebrants, the professandi were urged to make their vows to the Lord and fulfil them.
“Commitments to living the vows is a life of martyrdom,” the main celebrant reminded them to emulate St. Anthony Mary Claret and the Claretian Martyrs who were undaunted in their commitments even to the point of martyrdom.
Present at the lively liturgical celebration was Fr. Jude Igba, CMF who represented the Major Superior of the West Nigeria Delegation, Fr Daniel Onyeayana, CMF, the Claretian Sisters, the family and friends of the professandi, and other collaborators who share in our mission.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the guest was entertained by the students who garnished the reception with cultural and theatrical displays.
