Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. On February 14th the “Padre Sialo” Claretian Seminary celebrated it 25 years of existence under the theme: 25 years at the service of youth and the Church.
The festivities began on February 1st with a literature and drawing competition about the Seminary, followed by a football tournament from February 8-10th.
The formal activities began on Sunday, February 9th with an opening Mass celebrated at the Parish-Sanctuary “Claret” of Malabo.
On February 14th Father Rufino Ndong had a conference on the life of Claretian Missionary Fr. Joaquín María Sialo Ibeto after whom the Seminary is named. The Eucharist for this day was in honor of this graced event and included the attendance of the 17 current seminarians, the Claretians of this community, former seminarians from Malabo, and the Prefect of Formation from the Delegation, Fr, Marcelo-Beká Ensema, CMF.
The football tournament ended on Friday the 15th with the seminarian team as champions. On Friday afternoon the youth presented theatrical acts, poetic recitals, and dances.
The solemn mass on Saturday, February 16th was presided over by the Vicar of the Delegation, Fr. Marcelo-Beká Ensema. At the conclusion of the celebration was a presentation of trophies to the winners of the various contests, and various symbols of the jubilee (t-shirts, calendars, postcards, key rings). And all present shared in a fraternal meal.
