Rome. Dated July 23, 2012, Fr. Josep Ma. Abella, CMF, Superior General, published the Convocation of the First Assembly of the new Claretian Conference of the Americas (CCA).
The extraordinary Assembly, which will take place from November 26-30 in San José, Costa Rica, was exceptionally convoked by Father General, on the occasion of being the first time in which the representatives of said Conference will gather together.
Participating as “ex oficio” members will be the Major Superiors of the Provinces and Independent Delegations and the Coordinators of the Missions of North Potosí (Bolivia) and Belize; additionally, one delegate from each of the Major Organisms from the two American Continents, according to the provisional statutes of the Conference.
Among other duties, the Assembly will revise the provisional statutes and will give definitive approval to them, present their projects, detail their programs of animation, organize their services, and elect their first director.
The new Conference is the result of the reorganization of the previous Confederation of CICLA (Latin America and the Caribbean) and NACLA (USA and Canada).
