Agurain-Salvatierra, Spain. As in previous years by these dates, on September 21, 2019, about 60 Claretian and lay missionaries of the Province of Euskal Herria gathered together for a Meeting – Retreat, and celebrate the anniversaries of several Claretian Missionaries: José Luis Ortiz de Guinea (50 years of priesthood), Agustín Ortiz (25 years of priesthood) and Fernando Prado (25 years of Religious Profession). One particularity and something new in this gathering is that the Retreat was directed by 3 lay people: Aurora Banegas (Pedagogical Director of ESO and Baccalaureate of the Larraona-Claret School of Pamplona), Natalia Padrones (Lay Claretian of Askartza) and Begoña Garde (Lay Claretian of Donosti). The retreat was very well prepared, it was very provocative, with dynamics that sought to make the attendees think and participate. The motto – theme of the Retreat was: Together around it so the world may believe. On the floor, a carpet with the Bible, a candle and salt. BE SALT AND LIGHT and a large poster, Claretian inspired, with the drawing of a tree with its roots, trunk and branches / leaves. The Eucharist was presided over by the 2 honorees who, at the time of the homily, remembered their experiences of these 50 and 25 years of being Claretian priests and missionaries. Towards the end, the Provincial Father, Mateo Larrauri Antón, CMF, gave them, as a souvenir, a Papal Blessing. The Meeting – Retreat ended with a meal together.
