Owerri, Nigeria. The East Nigeria Province, under the prefecture of Bible Ministry and Communications, organized the Bible Week – 2024 from June 11-17. This year’s event featured a focus on creative drama presentations of selected Bible passages, captivating participants and deepening their engagement with the Scriptures.
The program saw active participation from Claretian Formation Houses, Academies, as well as various Parishes and Chaplaincies. The dramatic presentations included the encounter between Elijah and the prophets of Baal (1 Kgs 18:20-40), the saga of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar (Gen 16; 21), and other notable Old Testament stories.
New Testament passages were also brought to life through drama, including the parables of the Pearl of Great Value (Matt 13:44-46), the Lost Drachma (Luke 15:8-10), and the Workers in the Vineyard (Matt 20:1-16). These dramatizations provided a vivid and engaging way for participants to connect with the lessons and narratives of the Bible.
The 2024 Bible Week left a lasting impression on all who attended, fostering a deeper love and appreciation for the Word of God.
