Duoala, Cameroon. On Sunday, 4th of August 2019, on the 10th anniversary and patronal feast of Saint Jean Marie Vianney Parish of Beedi Malangue in Duoala, three Claretian Missionaries were ordained Deacons. His Excellency, Most Reverend Christian Cardinal Tumi, Archbishop Emeritus of Douala, was the ordaining bishop of students Emeran Mba, Edwin Mbang, and Thomas Aquinas Mvondo, CMFF to the Order of Deacons. Jude Langeh, CMF, Major Superior of the Claretian Missionaries, several confreres and Claretian brothers, relatives and friends of the deacons, and some authorities of the city of Duoala were present.
Fr. Frédéric Kpoumié, CMF, current parish priest of the said parish, couldn’t hide his emotions. He said: “It’s a great day for us to live such an event. It’s new. Glory to God by Saint John Marie Vianney! The first parish priest of the said parish, Fr. Emmanuel Yene, CMF, one of the living witnesses, was also very happy of the product of the parish.
Cardinal Tumi centered his homily on the relationship of men with wealth. He strongly recommended the virtues of community life: community prayer, eating together; common table, obedience to superiors, chastity and evangelical poverty.
