Assisi, Italy. The General Government had a few days together, as is customary before its intensive sessions in March and October. From March 6 to 9, 2022, they spent their days at the Barbara Micarelli Spirituality Center in Assisi, just a few meters from the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels.
Typically, these days serve as their ongoing formation. This time, they reflected and discussed the different complementary perspectives on synodality as the Church prepares itself from 2021 to 2023 for the Synod convened by Pope Francis.
Since they are already in Assisi, they took the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist, presided over by Father General, in the Porziuncola, a small church within the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, and then visit the Franciscan pilgrim sites in the area.
