The Congregation of Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Claretians) celebrated the sacred calling of new clergy members in a series of remarkable ordination events that unfolded across different parts of the world. These joyous occasions brought together faithful congregations, bishops, and missionaries, highlighting the universality and unity of the Catholic Church.
On the eve of Pentecost Sunday, May 27, 2023, His Excellency Archbishop Józef Piotr Kupny of Wroclaw, with the laying on of hands and solemn prayers, ordained Rev. Michał Szumny, CMF as a priest, embracing his sacred duties to serve and guide the faithful in their spiritual lives. The ordination occurred at the St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Wroclaw, Poland.
Meanwhile, another ordination unfolded on the same day in the Province of Centroamérica, specifically in Darién, Panama. The Parish of Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Agua Fría became the center of divine blessings as student Josué Edilberto Lemus Cruz, CMF, was called to receive his diaconal ordination. Surrounded by the Claretian missionaries, diocesan priests, and Capuchin friars who share the mission in the Vicariate of Darien, Msgr. Joaquín Hernandez, CMF, the Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Darién, laid his hands upon Lemus Cruz, imparting the grace of the diaconate.
On the Feast of the Visitation, May 31, 2023, five deacons were ordained in Indonesia-Timor Leste Independent Delegation. They are students Dominikus Evenroy Gultom, Emilianus Dungnga Koten, Engelbertus Seran, João Martinho Enfein, and Ponsianus Ladung, CMFF. Msgr. Peter Turang, Archbishop of Kupang, ordained them along with 19 other ordinands.
