Caguas, Puerto Rico. Within the framework of the Feast of St. Anthony Mary Claret, on October 26 and 27, 2019, the traditional national gatherings of the Claretian Youth of Antillas Independent Delegation have been held. The youth communities of the missionary positions of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic annually celebrate this gathering in their respective countries, in which the new generations have the possibility to share and celebrate the Claretian charism that unites them and makes the bond of fraternity.
On Saturday, October 26, in the city of Caguas, Puerto Rico, more than 200 young people from the four Claretian parishes of the Island, gathered under the motto: “Baptized and sent, we are verbs of fire” (ablaze, burns and enkindle) to live a formative, celebratory and charismatic experience. The YVM leaders accompanied this gathering with a vocational tone and offered a vocational fair giving the possibility for young people to know more and better the consecrated life, and among them the Claretian Family, as an option to discern the personal vocation that God has for each of them.

On Sunday, October 27, around 300 young people from the different youth communities of the Claretian Family (Lay Claretians, Claretian Missionaries and Claretian Sisters) met at the Claret Center in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for the same purpose but with a different theme: “Your Word sends us.” There was an opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist, offer workshops from the Claretian family, and space to share the gifts and talents around the motto during the entire gathering.

We thank God and so many YVM animators who were involved throughout the process, with generosity and commitment, so that the new generations continue to deepen and know the joy of living our charism, the joy of sharing our identity and, above all, the joy of being a Claretian Family.
