Vic, Spain. The Claretian Spirituality Congress, held from July 7-16, 2024, in Vic, Spain, brought together over eighty participants to delve deeper into Claretian spirituality. The event featured a mix of prayer sessions, inspiring talks, workshops, and various other activities.
Several inspirational talks were delivered during the congress. Fr. Carlos Sánchez, CMF, presented on the 175-year history of Claretian spirituality. Fr. Paulson Veliyannor, CMF, and Sr. Jolanta Kafka, RMI, addressed contemporary challenges in their session, “What is Draining Our Vitality?”. Dialogues led by Frs. Gonzalo Fernández and José Cristo Rey García Paredes, CMFF, offered new perspectives on being mystic missionaries in today’s world.
The workshops were dynamic and interactive, focusing on themes such as personal spiritual growth, community building, and practical applications of Claretian principles. These sessions encouraged participants to share their experiences and learn from each other’s journeys.
The congress also included various other activities, such as pilgrimages to Claretian sites in Vic, helping participants connect with their charismatic roots. It began with a dedicated retreat day, providing ample time for personal prayer and reflection, enhancing the overall spiritual experience. Evening events included a prayer concert by Maite López and a contemplative dance by María Victoria Hernández.
The congress concluded with a solemn Eucharist presided over by Card. Aquilino Bocos, CMF.
