Claretian Missionaries Celebrate 175th Anniversary with Perpetual Vows and Ordinations

Bata, Equatorial Guinea. On July 16, 2024 The Claretian Missionaries of Padre Xifre Delegation marked the 175th anniversary of their foundation with a special celebration in Bata. On this momentous occasion, Student José Antonio Mba Nkogo Bilogo made his perpetual vows in a well-attended Eucharistic Celebration at the Cathedral of Bata. The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Felix Obaga Eworo Bilogo, The Major Superior.

Continuing the spirit of the Jubilee, on July 20, 2024, the Parish of St. Francis Xavier of Nkué-Efulán hosted the Diaconal Ordinations of Antonio-José Nzó Ndong Asué and the Priestly Ordinations of Diosdado-Lorenzo Nsué Nguema Abang, Jeconías Isaké Bonao Rivas, Juan Etoho Osá Avomo, and Romualdo Dionisio Ondó Asumu Mokuy. These ordinations were conferred by Mons. Miguel Ángel Nguema Bee, SDB, Bishop of the Diocese of Ebibeyín.

Claretian Missionaries from the continental region and the Islands of Annobón and Bioko gathered to witness this significant event, highlighting the unity and commitment within the Congregation.

Perpetual Profession in Taiwan

Likewise, the Claretian community in Taiwan celebrated the 175th anniversary of the foundation of the Congregation, 30 years of Claretian presence in Taiwan and the perpetual profession of Zhang Luheng CMF and Pham Nguyen Anh Tam CMF. The Archbishop of Taipei, Most Reverend Thomas Chung An-zu, graced the occasion with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Around 400 people from the various Aboriginal communities and parishes the Claretians serve in the diocese attended the celebration.
