Jinja, Uganda. In commemoration of the 175th Jubilee Year of the Congregation, the Claretian Formation House in Jinja, Uganda, organized a series of intellectually stimulating and spiritually enriching events. Among the highlights were the exciting Bible Quiz and Bible Skit Competitions, which unfolded across the months of March and April 2024.
The competitions, divided into two phases, saw eager participation from numerous Primary and Secondary Schools. In the initial phase conducted throughout March, schools individually engaged in Bible Quiz competitions. The objective was to foster a deeper engagement with Scripture among the students, thereby nurturing their spiritual growth. The best five students from each school were awarded gifts and they were invited for an inter-school competition.
The second part of the competition was held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Queen of Apostles Philosophy Centre Jinja (PCJ). Here, the pinnacle of the event unfolded with the fascinating inter-school Bible Skit Competition, anchored around the theme of ‘Love of God and Love of Neighbor’.
Witnessing the participation of representatives from 13 schools, the event was a wall-hanging of creativity, spirituality, and modern-day relevance. The skits, inventively crafted by the young talents, seamlessly mingled biblical teachings with contemporary realities, serving as a testament to the enduring relevance of Scripture in today’s world.
The distinguished presence of Fr. Amos Moses Onyait CMF, serving as the Chief Guest, added a reverent atmosphere to the proceedings.
