Heredia, Costa Rica. As part of the ongoing formation process of the members of the Claretian Province of Centroamérica, six of their young missionaries gathered together at the Claret School in Heredia, Costa Rica for their Quinquennio. The theme for this year is “The peripheries in the heart of God” and was animated by the Ongoing Formation Team of the Province, the Provincial Superior, and with the special presence and enlightenment by Arthur Teixeira CMF, General Prefect of the Apostolate.
The formation counted with various moments of dialogues, fraternal sharing on their personal situation, missionary experiences in the social and existential periphery situations, the personal and social challenges that they are confronted with, etc. There was also a moment of dialogue with the Local Community and with the teachers and students of Claret School.
After praying and reflecting on the framework of the Congregational and Magisterial orientations in order to be in the processes of transformation and in order to intensify their option to be “missionaries going-forth,” a series of concrete commitments were drawn that will be of great help for the Claretian mission in Central American lands with an emphasis on the going-forth to the peripheries – ecological, new generations and cultures – emphasizing in doing discernment and mission in community.
