San José, Costa Rica. On July 4, 2022, at the Casa de Ejercicios Espirituales, the 2019-2026 midterm Provincial Assembly of Centroamérica has begun. Provincial Superior, Fr. Ismael Montero, CMF, opened the first session by welcoming the 30 missionaries present, calling them to live this momentum with a spirit of prayer, sharing, discernment, evaluation, and commitment.
The theme of the Assembly, based on the chapter exhortation Querida Congregación, is “CMF: Rooted and audacious, joyful and accompanied.” So much so, that at the end of the inaugural Mass, Fr. Ismael urged them to journey together, “in synodality,” “conversing” to see and discover what is new, the calls that impact them and propel them into the mission. He also encouraged the participants to discover the seeds of life, the weeds, and the challenges for the next three years.
