Blessings and Commitments: Ordinations and Perpetual Professions in the Claretian Journey

On 21 April 2024, Dn. Norbert Medina, CMF, USA-Canada Province, was ordained a priest by the hands of Auxiliary Bishop Italo Dell’Oro (Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston) in his home parish of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.  The ordination ceremony was attended by his mother, brother, family and friends, as well as several  Claretians.

Fr. Medina, CMF also celebrated his Thanksgiving Mass on 22 April 2024 at Mary Queen Catholic Church in Friendswood, Texas.

The Province Of Fátima

On 6 April 2024, the eve of Divine Mercy Sunday, Deacon José Manuel Marín Mena, CMF, was ordained a priest in the parish of St Anthony Mary Claret in Seville. A large number of Claretians, relatives and friends were present. The ceremony, presided over by Cardinal Aquilino Bocos, was a moment of deep reflection and gratitude to God for the gift of vocation.
The following day, Fr José celebrated his first Mass in the parish of San Juan in Don Benito, his home town.

Province of Bangalore

Similarly, on 27 April 2024, Deacon Govind Kujur, CMF, was ordained a priest by Most Rev. Theodore Mascarenhas, SFX, Bishop of Daltonganj. The celebration took place in Govind’s home parish, St Stephen’s Church, Nayakhar, Garhwa, Jharkhand, India. It was a very festive celebration, accompanied by local traditional customs such as dancing and singing. Along with Govind’s family and friends, a large number of faithful, priests, religious and the Claretian Fraternity took part in the celebration.

Province of Chennai

While, in the Province of Chennai, Dn. J. Dani John CMF was ordained priest on 7 April 2024 in Christ The King Church, Villupuram, Tamilnadu, India and Dn. A. Daniel CMF was ordained priest on the 27th April 2024 in St. Antony’s Church, Arulambady, Tamilnadu, India by Most Rev. Dr Francis Kalist, Archbishop of Pondi-Cuddalore.

The Province of Brasil celebrates two new Perpetual Professions

On Sunday, 14 April 2024, students Júlio César Boiago and Vitor Turiano Meira, CMFF, made their perpetual vows in the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The profession took place during the Eucharistic celebration at the Parish of the Heart of Mary in Curitiba, Brazil.

The celebration was presided over by the Provincial Superior, Fr. Eguione Nogueira Ricardo, CMF. In his homily, Father Eguione emphasised the experience of the Claretian charism as a service to the People of God.  Kneeling before the Provincial, Júlio and Vitor made their perpetual vows, joining the family of Claretian missionaries forever. The event was attended by Claretian missionaries of the Province, students, family, friends and the parish community.
